This Bruichladdich single cask was filled into an ex-Wine Hogshead Cask #R08/290-16 in 2004, and was bottled after 17 years at 56.5%. It is one of the best wine cask Bruichladdichs I've ever had, something like a single cask Bruichladdich Black Art... Exclusive to KWM!

Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: dark, rich, and leathery; soft licorice, dried dark fruits, leather, chocolate, and tobacco; comes across more Sherried than Wine cask, a touch like the Kavalan Vinho; candied nuts, dark chocolate, and Scottish tablet; aged gouda.
Palate: rich, dark, and nutty; Beer Nuts, maple roasted walnuts, Guides Mint cookies, and Eatmore; chocolate covered espresso beans; meaty, nutty, and leathery with a minty freshness; wintergreen chewing tobacco; dried dark fruits, sticky toffee pudding and treacle sauce; more aged Gouda, building crisp spices, and firm new leather.
Finish: long, rich, spicy, and nutty with waves of tobacco, treacle sauce, chocolate, and dark fruits.
Comment: we had the privilege of sampling this before it came in, which is a must when it comes to anything finished or matured in wine casks; but this is even better than I remembered; more reminiscent of a sherry cask, or STR whisky, than a classic wine cask; it is like a single cask of Bruichladdich Black Arts, at half the price... if there is such a thing!
