One of the most iconic bottles in the whiskey world. That red wax dipped neck has been the calling card of Maker's Mark - one of America's finest wheated bourbons. Maker's Mark is made from a mash bill of 60% Corn, 26% Red Winter Wheat, and 14% Malted Barley. It is aged between 7 to 9 years in heavily charred virgin oak before being bottled at 45%.

Maker's Mark is a mellow bourbon, made with wheat in place of rye with a mash bill of 60% Corn, 26% Red Winter Wheat, and 14% Malted Barley. To create the Maker's 46, the Bourbon has been finished in the same barrels as the regular but with new French oak staves inserted to add additional flavours of caramel, spice and vanilla. Firm, complex dry spices, herb, and some polished leather "grip", which dovetails well with Maker's trademark layered sweetness, Dried fruit and somewhat aggressive, but never excessive oak.

The 101 proof Maker's Mark is a higher alcohol version of the tried and true regular Maker's and like the flagship of the line it also gets the red wax dipped treatment on the cap and neck of the bottle. At 50.5% it offers a bolder, more intense profile than the regular Maker's Mark and is made from made using the same tried and true mash bill of 60% Corn, 26% Red Winter Wheat, and 14% Malted Barley.

The whisky staff at KWM recently had a chance to try this bottle when Cody from the distillery was travelling through Alberta. Like the rest of the Casey Jones lineup, this is very well put together and drinks superbly even in relative youth. The Wheated Bourbon is made from a four-grain mash bill that includes 26.5% Bloody Butcher Corn, 26.5% Yellow Dent Corn, 35% Wheat, and 12% Malted Barley. It is aged for at least three years and bottled at 55%.
