1966 Petite Champagne Cognac from Vallein Tercinier. This 56 year old youngster came from French Oak Cask No 151. Only 287 bottles, bottled at 49.7% abv. Non chill-filtered and natural colour.

Very complex nose with multiple flavours offering a very beautiful elegance: spices, cardamom and fennel. The secondary notes are marked by flavours of gingerbread, macerated oranges and exotic fruits. The palate is powerful, marked by liquorice and bitter cocoa. Gradually pronounced tastes of plum, dried fruit, and ripe pear appear. Nice balance between a discreet rancio and powerful saffron flavours. Very good length in the mouth with peppery persistance and a finish of old port.

Sourced from family estate Vallein Tercinier and composed of 60% N.78 Grande Champagne and 40% N.60 Petite Champagne, this is a luscious wee fruit bomb of a cognac. Angus has long had on his to do list: bottle a Fine Champagne Cognac. He created this blend with the excellent folk at Vallein Tercinier and the result is bottled at 48.2% with a modest outturn of just 120 bottles.
