Casey Jones is relatively new in our market, but for those with a love of history (especially as relates to whiskey, prohibition, and early distillation), a visit to the brand's website is well worthwhile. We tasted through a range of CJ products recently and greenlit all of 'em. This Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a high corn / low rye mash bill that drinks beyond the declared 2.3 years indicated on the bottle. 56%

A cool variation on what's coming out of Kentucky's Casey Jones Distillery, home of the square copper pot still. This is spirit that has been distilled from 'corn and cane' (catchy, right?), matured in new oak, then shifted over to ex-Bourbon Barrels for a last bit of polishing. It's obviously not Bourbon, but it is delicious. Matured for up to 4 years, before bottling at 53.5%

That's not a still type; it's legitimately the shape of the Casey Jones Distillery's pot still, built in homage to the highly mobile prohibition-era stills that the legendary Casey Jones was knocking out for the bootleggers all those years back. Lots of history here - which is fun, of course - but the spirit is bloody good, and that's what really matters. High corn / low rye mash bill. 52%
