This is white vermouth with a Mediterranean character, made from fortified white Grenache wine and local aromatic plants (rosemary, thyme and fennel), balsamic plants (green anise, savoury, laurel...), macerated citrus skins (lemon, orange), roots (gentian, angelica, licorice ...), spices (cinnamon, cloves, turmeric...), and flowers (chamomile, elder, maiden...). "The first references to vermouth in Gonzalez Byass date back to 1896. The La Copa range is based on these recipes found in the company archives dating back to 1896, with labels inspired by the designs found in the company’s historic archives.
The details are a closely guarded secret, but botanicals including wormwood, savory, clove, orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, angelic root and cinchona bark. They are carefully blended with fino, oloroso and Pedro Ximinez wines for a perfect bitter-sweet, aromatic balance. Delicious as a long drink with tonic or neat over ice."
