Basilio Izquierdo is a prominent figure in the Spanish wine industry, having spent 32 years as the head winemaker at CVNE, a highly respected brand in Rioja. In 2007, he established Bodegas Basilio Izquierdo with a vision to craft wines that reflect a modern interpretation of Rioja. His mission focuses on sourcing grapes from unique vineyards that are over 40 years old, utilizing his four decades of expertise to create exceptional wines. Acodo Red is a full-bodied edition, showing both power and juicy, deep fruit with pure mixed berry and black cherry scents and flavors. The mouthfeel is ample and yet supple, with classic vanilla, spice and potted soil tones. Full, polished tannins make for rich and long finish. It would benefit from decanting before serving. 85% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacha. Pairs with red meats.

Cognac-born consultant winemaker and viticulturist Olivier Rivière was lured to Spain in 2004 by Telmo Rodriguez to convert his vineyards to biodynamics. He ended up falling in love with the traditions and grapes of the country, and now farms 25 hectares of owned and contracted vineyards in Rioja Alta, Rioja Baja, Rioja Alavesa, and the up-and-coming DO of Arlanza. He is a terroirist at heart, with a focus on biodynamics honed by time working at Elian da Ros, Domaine de Chassorney, and Domaine Leroy.

Anne-Sophie Dubois is part of a new generation of rising star vignerons in Beaujolais. Based in the heart of Fleurie, Anne-Sophies' wines epitomize delicacy and finesse, with a style and approach aligned with the Gamay grown in the area. Having learned winemaking in Volnay, she draws from her experience there to elegant wines; full of depth and aromatic complexity, and without the over-extraction of fruit.
In addition to a Beaujolais blanc, Anne-Sophie produces three additional cuvées, the most accessible wine being the Paso Doublé Gamay, which is labelled as Bourgogne Rouge and meant to be enjoyed upon release. Her other two wines, l’Alchemiste and Clepsydre, exhibit considerable aromatic complexity, depth, and nuance on the palate. She refrains from using new oak and prefers to utilize cement vats and larger neutral oak casks for fermentation and aging. The resulting wines are renditions of gamay abound with fruit, finesse and exquisite balance. She is also an artist and is responsible for the very cool labels on her bottles. The wines are made in a natural style but in the best sense of the term (in other words refermenting or microbiological issues).
