The arid vineyards of Priorat, about a 90-minute drive from Barcelona, produce some of the most sought-after Spanish red wines. White wines, on the other hand, are a scarcity here but taste this and you'll wonder why. It's a blend of Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Macabeau. Expect notes of passion fruit, ripe pineapple, white peach, citrus, thyme and tart grapefruit. A medium-bodied wine with some beautiful acidity and structure. Perfect with roast chicken.

Montsant (where the Coca i Fito brothers winery is situated), is a remarkably beautiful region with steep mountains that rise more than 3,300 feet above sea level. The climate is harsh: hot summers and bitter winters.The vines are planted directly on the steep hillsides, on what are called "costers" or terraces. This red wine from DO Montsant is crafted from carefully selected grapes of old vines, primarily grown on clay-limestone soils. The Jaspi Blanc is made of 70% White Grenache (40 to 70-year-old vines) 30% Macabeu (40 to 70-year-old vines) represents great value! There's a touch of ageing “sur lies” (yeasts) which adds flavour and creaminess. White floral aromas meet white fruit and hints of pepper and herbs on the palate.

Modernista wines are a project of Joaquim and Fran López, produced at Catedral Delvi in Spain's Catalonia region. The cathedral is an amazing work of architecture inspired by Gaudi. It contains both the winery and a highly rated restaurant. Oenologist José Valiente and the winemaker Josep Vicens have planted their vines on farms located in Gandesa and Pinell de Brai. The majority of those vineyards are old and the red variety are Grenache and Carignan.
