Their story began with Quintín Ortega in 1986. A humble figure with some good ideas and the determination to carry them out, he decides to plant vines and start what is now the winery, led by his great-grandson, Carmelo Ortega. In the 90s, Carmelo established the winery headquarters in an old house that served as a winery for many years, now a site where an enotourism project is being developed to encourage tourism in the region. Their property covers approximately 700 hectares of scrubland, almond fields and vineyards, all of which are sheltered by the nearby mountains, which create climatic conditions that include a reduced risk of frost and a controlled level of humidity in the summer. This set of features and factors, together with the characteristics of the soil (pebbles, low organic matter), creates a unique grape-growing microcosm, which has allowed them to develop the “village wine” style they are looking for to define the wines of Tudelilla (the village where they are situated in the heart of the Rioja Baja region).. A blend of 90% Garnacha and 10% Viura, this wine has ripe and floral notes, with hints of tropical fruit (grapefruit, passion fruit and orange peel). Serve as an aperitif or cold dishes.

The Coca i Fitó project began in 2006 when the two brothers decided to make their first wine from the eponymous Coca i Fitó vineyard in Montsant, “Coca i Fitó Negre”.
Their wine project has become increasingly diverse since the first wine was produced in 2006. Their desire and curiosity have led them to create a diverse line of wines in different appellations throughout the country.
The winery is located in DO Montsant, in the village of El Masroig. This is where the majority of wines are made. Here is a Rosé wine with a red wine soul. Made from 100% Syrah grapes from vines up to 30 years in age, its essence lies in the vineyard's limestone soils and in its winemaking – a rosé wine with some barrel ageing. The result is mouth-watering. It's refreshing with good structure and complexity. It’s also an age-worthy Rosé and will keep its freshness and colour for several years. Astobiza is situated within the Txakoli de Álava DO, and the wines are made exclusively with grapes produced from the estate. The vineyard is located in the small rural municipality of Oquendo, in the province of Álava, about 30 minutes from Bilbao, on a 10-hectare estate divided into 7 micro-plots. Located 250 meters above sea level, it is protected by mountains and far from the bottom of the valley, thus sheltering it from fog and winter frost. 100% of their grapes come from autochthonous varieties, mainly Ondarrabi Zuri, some Ondarrabi Zuri Zerratie (Petit Corbu), and a small plot of Izkiriota (also known as Gros Manseng).
