This Bottled-In-Bond 100° expression of Rittenhouse is produced in the tradition of the classic rye whiskies that were once the preeminent American whisky style, kept alive through the lean years by Heaven Hill and two other distilleries. The Rye brand takes its name from Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and hearkens back to that states long-lost but once highly regarded "Monongahela" rye whiskies.
Heaven Hill Distillers produces this four-year-old Bonded Rittenhouse Rye at their Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY.

While the Michter’s name has a long and storied history, the Michter’s Distillery of Louisville, KY has only been in operation since 2015. Any whiskey bottled that is older than that was sourced from other distilleries, typically within Kentucky. Luckily, the quality of anything bottled with the Michter’s label on it is typically high, regardless of their original provenance.
Other than their single barrel products, Michter’s typically bottles their whiskey from selected small batches of 20 barrels or less.

Similar to the Jim Beam Double Oak - this Knob Creek was given a secondary maturation in heavily charred virgin oak barrels. Knob Creek itself is produced at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. Bottled at 50% ABV.

The Evan Williams Single Barrel may change slightly in style with every single barrel and each vintage, but it is always one of the quintessential American Whiskeys. It is made by Heaven Hill Distillers at their Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY and bottled at 43.3% ABV.

We're in a bit of a rye renaissance at the moment. It seems the whisky world has finally woken up and is rediscovering a classic style of whisky that has been kept away from the spotlight for a while. This big and spicy throwback from Redemption, however, hearkens back to an age when rye was king. We're not talking about the drink we Canadians like to call 'rye' (usually corn); we're talking right proper rye grain distillate. The mashbill on this weighty little number from Indiana's MGP distillery is 95% rye and 5% malted barley. You know what that means, right? Spice, spice, spice! And while it really does work well in high end cocktails, the sharp pristine grain here is best sipped neat from a good whisky glass.
