Tasmania's rugged coastal beauty and cool climate terrain first ignited a passionate pursuit from owners Bertel and Anne Sundstrupto to craft perfect single-site wines back in 1987, well before the rest of Australia had caught on. This inspired the founding of Dalrymple Vineyards on the sloping hills of Pipers River, overlooking Bass Strait. It offers generous aromas of red berry fruit aromas, hints of fresh-cut plums and fine oak spice. On the palate, there are soft red fruits with ripe tannins structure supporting the sense of a warm vintage. Savoury notes of dried meats and provencal herbs add to the complexity after opening and will become more integrated with bottle age

"The Bindi Dixon Pinot Noir is based upon declassified grapes from the Original Vineyard planted in 1988 and grapes from the new Block K, planted in 2001. The ideal of this wine is to produce a delicious, perfumed, spicy harmonious, textured wine that is not as intense, complex nor ageworthy as our individual vineyard wines. Even when the outstanding Block K vines are older we will continue to declassify sections or barrels from each vineyard and produce this wine.
The wine is fermented the same way as our other Pinot Noirs in that it is ostensibly 100% de-stemmed and gently worked in small open vats. The wine spends 11 months in French barrels, of which about 10-15% is new.
Production varies from 500-700 dozen per vintage.

Something magical happened when Derek Rohlffs decided to veer onto a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. In a far-flung vineyard with grazing sheep, he happened upon the perfect place to grow Pinot Noir that would push boundaries and defy expectations. The 2022 Outlier Pinot Noir is a delicious wine produced from a single, organically farmed vineyard in the upper reaches of Spring Valley, a narrow ravine just east of Clear Lake. The cool micro-climate at Long Valley Ranch allows for the slow ripening that is so critically important when it comes to producing a balanced Pinot Noir.
This outlying CCOF-certified vineyard is the only one for miles around. A mix of Pinot Noir vines was established in 2015, including Dijon clones 114, 115, 667, 777, and 943. Long Valley Ranch is off the beaten path but the 15-kilometre drive up the dirt road leading to the vineyard is worth it—and then some!

In Te Reo Māori, Ata Rangi means “dawn sky” or “new beginning”. It is a name that honours their land and reflects the work they do here. Making wine is all about working in sync with the changing seasons and conditions on the land. They strive to craft wines that capture the essence of Martinborough, Aotearoa-New Zealand. They are a small, family-owned organic winery with a reputation for pinot noir, located at the southern end of the North Island. Ata Rangi was founded by Clive Paton in 1980. The first vines were planted on a small, stony sheep paddock at the edge of the Martinborough Village. Clive’s sister Alison bought an adjoining block soon after and in 1986 Clive’s partner Phyll Pattie bought a share in the business after moving from Marlborough where she had been working as a winemaker. 40 years on, they continue to work diligently to nurture Ata Rangi’s enviable reputation as one of the new world’s most respected pinot noir producers. Today, Alison Paton heads up the day-to-day running of the business, with Helen Masters crafting the wines aided by the vital stewardship of vineyard manager Ian Ewart.
While the Crimson may be Ata Rangi's second label Pinot, it is superior to other wineries' top bottles made from the heartbreak grape! The Farr estate is located in the Moorabool Valley between Geelong and Ballarat, 100km southwest of Melbourne. Gary and Robyn Farr purchased the original property in 1994 and the second section in 1998—this latter had been untouched for almost 40 years and consisted of dense boxthorn and noxious weeds. The final piece of the puzzle, which links the two blocks of land, was purchased by Nick and Cassie Farr in 2011, making a total of 130 acres—of which 36 acres are under vine and the remainder is maintained as grazing and cropping for cattle and horses. With a mixture of different clones and rootstocks, the grape varieties grown here are viognier, chardonnay, pinot noir, gamay and shiraz. Grape growing in this region dates back more than 200 years, with Swiss settlers planting Victoria’s first vineyards here in the early 1800s.
