Something magical happened when Derek Rohlffs decided to veer onto a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. In a far-flung vineyard with grazing sheep, he happened upon the perfect place to grow Pinot Noir that would push boundaries and defy expectations. The 2022 Outlier Pinot Noir is a delicious wine produced from a single, organically farmed vineyard in the upper reaches of Spring Valley, a narrow ravine just east of Clear Lake. The cool micro-climate at Long Valley Ranch allows for the slow ripening that is so critically important when it comes to producing a balanced Pinot Noir.
This outlying CCOF-certified vineyard is the only one for miles around. A mix of Pinot Noir vines was established in 2015, including Dijon clones 114, 115, 667, 777, and 943. Long Valley Ranch is off the beaten path but the 15-kilometre drive up the dirt road leading to the vineyard is worth it—and then some!

This debut release - a KWM exclusive - is a brilliant ruby red colour offering complex aromas of chaparral, cherry blossom, rhubarb, cranberry, forest floor, mint, and truffle. An exuberant swirl of red and black fruit is at the forefront on the lushly-textured black cherry, boysenberry, blackberry, and Cara Cara orange-flavoured palate. Supple, dusty tannins and uplifting acidity add depth and freshness, respectively, to the wine while savoury iron, mocha, and rose hip notes chime in on the finish.

Yes, Pinot Noir from Spain. Check it out — it's fantastic. If it had a Russian River Valley appellation on the label, this thoroughly modern Pinot Noir would sell for a lot more than it does! You'll love its rich earthy full-blown Pinot character. Utiel-Requena is the Spanish wine region immediately east of Manchuela, a large growing area that is smack-dab in the centre of Spain. Pinot does well here due to the higher altitude which equates to a cooler climate, one best suited to the grape. Bassus is big in style and very satisfying. A Kensington Wine Market exclusive! Torlesse has sourced grapes from vineyards in the Waipara and Canterbury regions to produce the character of this rich and complex red wine. It has enticing sweet berry fruit and spicy oak aromas. Pinot Noir likes cool climates so it's settled in very nicely here. Very well priced and a great choice for those who like a lighter style red. Delicious sweet berry fruit and spicy oak aromas make this a perennial staff favourite. This Pinot pairs quite nicely with grilled salmon, pork or chicken kebobs, and of course: cheese.

Just gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. "A rich garnet in colour, the nose is bursting of lingonberry, Bing cherry and sweet anise alongside floral notes of crushed rose petal and violet. Ripe raspberry and dark plum emerge on the palate with an intriguing graphite minerality on the finish. All sourced from our single vineyard estate, select Pinot Noir blocks were handpicked and vinified in small lots using entirely wild fermentation. The small batches were then placed into a selection of new and seasoned French oak barriques for 12 months and blended, unfined and unfiltered, just prior to bottling.
