Now, it's a blend of aged rums from Trinidad and Tobago, distilled by Angostura, Ltd. It's a dark brown rum distilled from fermented molasses, aged 12 years in used bourbon barrels. Look for notes of vanilla, chocolate and coffee in a rich body with a smoky oak flavor in the finish.

The Santa Teresa Hacienda in Venezuela started distilling in 1797. This rum was first launched in 1997 to celebrate its 200th anniversary. Santa Teresa is a dark rum made in a solera system which blends 8 to 12 year old rums. The palate has notes of honey, dark chocolate, maple syrup, caramel pecans and smoky wood with a smooth finish of coconut and slightly smoked ripe fruit. It finishes with great length, a touch of pepper and developing complexity.
