The Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Aston Martin Edition Release No 2 was matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon Barrels, ex-Port Pipes, ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, and wine casks before being finished in ex-Fino Sherry Butts. The result has been bottled at 43% ABV.
Luckily, this bottle was not designed by Adrian Newey, so it should be less prone to breaking down before you cross the finish line.

Nose: rich stewed fruits with a beautiful array of floral top notes. Hints of marzipan and polished leather. A drop of water accentuates the fresh, ripe fruits.
Taste: mellow and silky smooth with a creamy, buttery toffee sweetness. Caramelised cane sugar with a lovely counterbalance of dry oak tannin.
Finish: long lasting oaky sweetness.

Remember way back when this was finished in Cuban Rum casks... the Havana Reserve... "Resurrecting the lost tradition of maturing in rum casks, Cuban rum was decanted at the Glenfiddich distillery and replaced with 21 yr old whisky. The distillery settles for "Caribbean Rum casks" these days... maybe some of them are from Cuba! 40% ABV.

We've been waiting more than 2 years for this expression to hit our shores. I remember sampling it at Whisky Live Paris in 2019, where it was flowing like water... Matured in Bourbon & Sherry this whisky was then finished in "French cuvee casks" (translation Champagne). 40%
