Spearhead Winery is located on the benchlands of South East Kelowna.Their focus is on premium quality wine which theyproduce from grapes grown on theirr estate vineyard and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots. They grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Approximately 80% of 15 acres of vines is comprised of Pinot Noir including four different Dijon clones, 2 California heritage clones and Pommard. This combination of plantings enables their wine maker to select from the different characteristics exhibited by these clones in order to create a harmonious, complex Pinot Noir from our home vineyard. We also draw from a number of other vineyards in the Okanagan including Golden Retreat in Summerland and Coyote Vineyard in West Kelowna.
750 ml100% Pommard Clone Pinot Noir from Cherry Hill Vineyard in Willamette Valley, Oregon (there was no fruit available in the 2024 vinatge in the Okanagan). Lifted aromatics of black cherry, pomegranate, and red plum are framed by floral hibiscus notes, with layers of dried herbs, allspice, and tea leaf emerging in the background. The palate mirrors the nose, driven by darker fruit and subtle earth. More robust in structure, this expression remains balanced, focused, and refined.
