Protos Crianza

$33.59

Protos has the distinction of producing wines in the Ribera de Duero region since 1927, making them the first producer to sell their wines commercially. They authorized the use of their Ribera del Duero brand for the region, and in doing so created what has become one of the most famous names in Spanish viticulture. They built their new state-of-the-art facility in 2008, and the structure has won awards for its design. The fruit for this wine is sourced from two of their oldest vineyards, Burgos and Valladolid, both averaging 35 years of age. It spends 12 months in French and American barrels and shows subtle notes of vanilla, char, and spice, all wrapped in a core of red fruits. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, a nice choice for charcuterie or roast chicken.

Heartland Stickleback Red

$15.99

Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Dolcetto are blended together to create a bright yet full-bodied wine that is perfect for everyday occasions. Each variety is individually fermented on the skins for 5 days before it is pressed to enhance the aromatics while softening the naturally present tannins. Maturation in 2–3-year-old oak barrels rounds out the rich and savoury character of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Dolcetto and a splash of Lagrein add spiciness and vibrant tannins that complete the wine. Perfect for your Sunday night roast dinners, grilled dishes, cured meats, and aged cheeses.

Russiz Pinot Bianco

$39.19

The origins of the Felluga family - who own both Marco Felluga and Russiz Superior - dates back 150 years, and six generations later they enjoy a position as one of the benchmark producers of white wine in Italy. The winery follows sustainable viticulture practices and derives all of their electricity from solar panels. Collio is situated in northeast Italy on the border with Slovenia. The Pinot Bianco has a deep straw yellow colour with golden and green hues and expresses ripe apple and flower aromatics. In the mouth, it's silky and round with a lengthy finish.

Bodegas Arzuaga Crianza

$46.39

The Arzuaga winery is in Valladolid, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin. The wines come from La Planta, an estate belonging to the Arzuaga family in Quintanilla de Onésimo, in the province of Valladolid. The winery has 210 hectares (520 acres) of vineyards distributed between the immediate surroundings of the winery and the natural area of La Planta estate. The Arzuaga vineyards enjoy a unique climate: sunshine and clear skies in the daytime and cool, damp nights. This climatic combination means the grapes ripen slowly but perfectly, producing healthy fruit with plenty of colour, full of sugar and aromatic acidity. In this region of Castile, where low fertility is a feature of the soils, the Tinto Fino or Tempranillo variety is grown, together with the French grapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. 80% of the vineyards are more than 20 years old, with a production of more or less 4,000 kg/ha. Bodegas Arzuaga also has vineyards outside the province of Valladolid, in Malagón, in Ciudad Real, where its Pago Florentino wine is made..

Quinta Nova Douro Touriga

$37.59

With a history spanning over 200 years, Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo occupies over 120 ha of land and has been listed since the first demarcation of the Douro wine region in 1756, during the Pombaline era. The original wine cellar that dates back to 1764, and the 19th-century manor house with a chapel (1795) are harmoniously integrated into one of the estate's hills. Owned by the Portuguese Royal Family until 1725, it became a “new estate” when two estates were merged. Several Portuguese families lived in the estate in the 18th and 19th centuries, during an important period in the agriculture of the Douro, and gave life to the vineyards and wine, fruit orchards, water mills built along the stream that runs through the estate and the old olive grove.

Blue Mountain Gamay Noir

$33.99

Blue Mountain is the wild and respected territory of which the Mavety family are blessed to be the guardians. As a family business with a strong connection to the South Okanagan site, the goal of Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars is to realize the potential of the individual sites of the land in which the grapes are grown. Overlooking and tending, the Mavety’s life work is an ongoing process of creating something simple yet powerful, to be expressed in the glass and enjoyed. The philosophy of Blue Mountain is to focus on the potential of each variety, continually improving its range across Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, and Traditionnelle Methode sparkling wine.

Blue Mountain’s strong focus on viticulture across the site allows for an increased representation of individual terroir when the grapes reach the winery.
