Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Fruity, malty aromas are intertwined with honey. A hint of bourbon teases your senses.
Palate: With the very first sip, flavours of malted barley greet you. A heady mix of bourbon and manuka honey-liquorice makes for an attractive spine. And while you relish this experience, the unexpected flavour of toasted honeycomb takes you by surprise.
Finish: This Single Malt has an absolutely elegant finish, with juicy Demerara tones ensuring a soft, friendly finish.
Laphroaig 27 Year
$1,519.99
A curious bottling of mature Laphroaig, bottled at a very low cask strength of 41.7%. This low strength is more easily understood when you consider the whisky was matured in both Ex-Bourbon Barrels and more crucially Quarter Casks, 125L barrels. These Quarter Casks increase the surface area exposure to the spirit, leading to a more rapid maturation and a much higher angel's share. 90pts Angus @ Whisky Fun

Ardbeg An Oa
$107.99
"An Oa" is named for Islay's wild Mull of Oa on the south-west coast. The prominent headland offers the Kildalton coast a bit of shelter from the tempestuous North Atlantic. The area was in centuries past the scene of much illicit distilling. The whisky is the first new core release in the Ardbeg range for close to a decade. Crafted to offer a more approachable take on Ardbeg whisky, the spirit was matured in a mix of PX Sherry, Virgin Oak and Ex-Bourbon casks. The mix was then rested in the distillery's new Gathering Vat'.

Producer Description
"A welcome new addition to the Ultimate range. Ardbeg An Oa is singularly rounded, due in no small part to time spent in our newly established bespoke oak Gathering Vat where whiskies from several cask types - including; sweet Pedro Ximenez; spicy virgin charred oak; and intense ex-bourbon casks, amongst others - familiarise themselves with each other. The result is a dram with smoky power, mellowed by a delectable, smooth sweetness. Hallmark Ardbeg peat, dark chocolate and aniseed are wrapped in smooth, silky butterscotch, black pepper and clove, before rising to an intense crescendo of flavour."

Auchentoshan Bartender`s Malt
$67.99
One of the most interesting Auchentoshans we've seen yet. The Bartender's Malt was the construct of a dozen of the world's best bartenders. Their goal? Build a malt whisky big enough to stand up to the demands of cocktails that require Scotch whisky as one of their ingredients. Whether or not you believe it borders on blasphemy to bury a fine single malt whisky in juices and syrups and fruit is a debate for another day, but it should be made clear what these 12 innovators were up against. Auchentoshan is a Lowland malt, triple distilled, with a reputation for being something of a lightweight. By nature, something like that is bound to get out-muscled in a mixed drink, right? Well...not necessarily. They've upped the abv, included some spicier, more lively casks (of all sorts!), and vatted whiskies from the last five decades in order to create something that was punchy enough to cut through. And you know what? They've succeeded.
