Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye
$61.99
Beam Suntory has been putting out quite a few special releases American Whiskey-wise recently, including the Knob Creek Twice Barreled Rye. Similar to the Jim Beam Double Oak - this Knob Creek was given a secondary maturation in heavily charred virgin oak barrels. Knob Creek itself is produced at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont, Kentucky. Bottled at 50% ABV.
Old Tub Kentucky Straight Bourbon
$48.99
Old Tub is a Bonded Bourbon made by Jim Beam Distillery of Clermont, Kentucky. The name Old Tub actually comes from the pre-prohibition name of Jim Beam Distillery itself. No mention is made as to which mash bill is used for this, but given the history of the name, it is likely the regular Jim Beam Bourbon mash bill of 75% Corn, 13% Rye, 12% Barley. What sets it apart is the 50% ABV and that it is said to be Unfiltered, "for more robust flavor".
This is apparently a limited release from Jim Beam - but maybe they have enough stock to change their mind on that? Only time will tell...
The term "Bonded" or "Bottled in Bond" means that this whiskey had to adhere to the following standards as originally written into law by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897:
- All whiskey in the bottle must be produced by one distillery and by one distiller over the course of one distillation season.
- The whiskey must be at least four years old.
- It must be bottled at 100 proof / 50% ABV
- The whiskey must be aged in bonded warehouses under United States federal supervision.
- The label on the bottle has to state which distillery it comes from and also where it was bottled.
Jim Beam Single Barrel
$46.99
Part of Jim Beam's Single Barrel Bourbon program, like Baker's and Knob Creek, but with a lighter profile. Bottled at 45%.
Producer Description
"One thing is for sure, no two barrels of bourbons are the same. Placement, the season and length of aging all affect its unique flavors and come together to create the perfect whiskey in one, single barrel-hand to become Jim Beam Single Barrel."
Little Book Chapter 08
$209.99

Producer Description
"Knowing that rye has roots extending to the beginning of American Whiskey and holds more than two centuries of heritage, you could say, “it’s been done.” But with this chapter, “Path Not Taken,” we explore the future of American Rye by blending a unique range of rye whiskies together and show you that rye still has plenty of stories left to tell.
“Path Not Taken” is about reimagining the variety that rye grain has to offer and pushing the limits of what it can be. We look across America’s oldest whiskey frontier from a new vantage point and create a complex, redefined and differentiated profile by blending ryes of different age, char and mash bill.
The story of rye has been told countless ways. But never like this."
