According to Indian Mythology, when Gods and the Rakshas (the demons) churned the oceans using mountain Menu as churner a golden pot sprang out containing the Elixir of Life or "Amrut". The whisky is made using Indian barley grown at the foot of the Himalayas, and is mashed with water from those same mountains. Distilled in the city of Bangalore it is matured their in tropical conditions. 50% of the whisky--the angels share--is generally lost before bottling.
This Indian Single Malt has been getting all sorts of attention, having tried it I was suitably impressed. Jim Murray has reviewed three different bottlings of it at 87, 92 and 94pts! Citrus, vanilla and barley, "you know you are in for a rare treat!" - JM
