Sadly, there is no such thing as a Balmenach official bottling. Even indies are few and far between. Shame, really, as some Balmenach we've met have been damn good. This Maltbarn Balmenach spent 19 years in ex-Bourbon, before being bottled at 19 years of age. Outturn of 160 bottles.
Natural colour, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 55.0% abv.

Balmenach Distillery was founded in 1824 and resides in the Highlands. This single cask of Balmenach was matured and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. It was distilled in 2008 and bottled after 14 Years maturing in a first fill sherry hogshead at 62.6%. 327 bottles were filled in total for The Whisky Explorer Society.

This 15 year old Speysider spent 12 years in an ex-bourbon hogshead before being transferred to a 2nd fill high-lactone barrique with toasted heads, and has an abv of 52.9%.

Really small outurn here; only 63 bottles of this one floating around out there. For a while, we were virtually drowning in Glen Moray, but now that they're fewer and further between, we've started actively hunting them out. Ex-Bourbon cask matured for 13 years.
