The history of La Carlina however began much later, in 2014, when Camilla and Francesco, two young siblings and enthusiastic wine growers, aware of the great potential of their territory, decided to set up on their own and leave their mark, crushing their grapes and making their own wine. La Carlina was born from the combination of a generations old romance, rigorous in vineyards as in everyday life, and the freshness, knowledge and courage of new generations that get out there in order to continue the family farming activity and to turn it into a dynamic and specialized reality based on organic and ecologically sustainable vineyards cultivation.

The nose is upfront fruity, with acidic red berry aromas filling up the glass and hitting your taste buds with liveliness. Spices and herbs provide some depth and complexity: laurel leaves and black pepper are among those. Once settled in with some aeration, the wine is vibrant and filled with lively berry flavours.

Renzo Seghesio has worn many shoes, farmer and winemaker, cartographer and former mayor of Monforte d’Alba: upon studying winemaking in Alba, Renzo has received a master's degree in biology from the University of Turin and, since returning to Monforte in the 1960s and founding his winery, his intent and focus have been dedicated to the single goal of growing and selecting the best possible fruit from the unique terroir of the family parcels.
Since 1968 Renzo has gone from making his first wine in his family's garage to producing over 70.000 bottles per year from the own-grown grapes of the family estates currently spanning over 14 hectares of land
