Nose: A faint hint of char like a distant campfire, wholly unexpected, savoury with just a note of vanilla right at the back.
Palate: Spiritous, rich, vanilla and smoke with subtle tannins and a light fruitiness that’s almost lost but not quite.
Finish: Lingering, hot, drying and very spicy, a combination of liquorice and vanilla that’s unusually sophisticated for a rum.
