Alberta Distillers is probably (almost certainly) the greatest producer of Rye Whisky in the world. The distillery may be more a workhorse than a show pony, but the whisky produced here in the heart of Calgary is surprisingly beautiful and elegant. While the standard 40% Alberta Premium is a great 'every day' sort of drop, this Cask Strength version is on an entirely different level. It's big, bold and bombastic. It's also a near perfect example of what pristine Rye Whisky can be. Batch 4.
