Robert Piollot (1930 - 2003) founded the house in the 19th century. Two generations later the family expanded their father's work by increasing the vineyard holdings of the domain. It is thanks to him that they can now produce a 100% pinot blanc Champagne called "colas Robin". In 1955, the Val Colas Robinl site was cleared and planted by his hand, row by row. He also established the Piollot Selection Massale that we know today in the region. He dedicated his life to selecting his best plants and then grafting. In 2009, they began converting to organic viticulture, with a total certification in 2014. They recently received their Demeter certification (biodynamics).

The Comes des Tallants is made from 100% Pinot Noir and is aged on its lees for four years before disgorging. It's a brut nature (zero dosage). It offers juicy orchard fruit and is bone-dry with a backbone of fresh citrus acidity. The mousse is creamy and lively, pure class-A Champagne all the way.
