"This blend features tropical aromas of fresh coconut with hints of banana, mango and vanilla. Upon tasting, notes of plantain, caramel, sandalwood and burnt brown sugar come forward with of course coconut making a subtle appearance alongside a flint of minerality and a touch of saltiness from the coconut water. Be warned, this is not a sweet rum, as you might think."

This Coconut Rum comes to us from Planteray - the company formerly known as Plantation Rum. Luckily the have only changed names and not the quality of their ingredients and products. The Cut & Dry Coconut Rum uses pot still and column still rum made at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados which has been mixed with an infusion of dried coconut (also from Barbados). The result is bottled at 40% ABV for our tasting pleasure.

"Ripe coconuts are harvested, cracked open and laid outside to naturally dry. The dried chunks of coconut are infused in a blend of: Barbados column still rum & Barbados pot still rum (Old Gregg). The fruit infusion is then blended with Barbados rum. The exquisite marriage of two icons of the Caribbean: Coconut and Rum!"

This Guatemalan is a hand selected batch celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Rum Nation as an independent bottler. The rum is made from sugarcane molasses distilled in a column still. The youngest rum in the batch is four years old, and it all was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels resting in warehouses near the Hondo river in Southern Guatemala. The rum was then transferrred to sherry casks (Oloroso and PX) for a further 16 months in Italy before being bottled. 40%

"High quality molasse rum, fermented and distilled in traditionnal column. Once distilled, the rum is transported to the North-West of Guatemala, then transferred into old bourbon casks at 180m altitude above the sea. This rum is aged for 4 years above the Hondo river, where humidity allows to slow down the ageing process, in an almost tropical climate region. One of the lightest rums in our selection, with a pleasantly sweet touch in the Latin style but without ever becoming too sugary"

This curious rum from Ron Relicario started its life being distilled and then ageing away in the Dominican Republic for up to a decade. It was then transferred into American oak hogsheads that previously held peated Scotch Whisky from an unnamed distillery in the Speyside region. Bottled at 40% ABV.
