It is not often that we see 20 something Glen Elgins anymore... This Batch 2 release from the Boutique-y chaps is bottled at 48.2%, and is rocking an 88.78pt score on Whisky Base.
Producer Description: "Our second batch from the Glen Elgin distillery is a 22 Year Old, a release of just 434 bottles at 48.2% abv."

"Here is Lord Elgin, leading a beautiful white horse through the vast scenic background of a typical Scottish Glen.In the horse’s saddlebags; marbles! A slab of the Elgin Marbles in one, glass marbles with a few falling out of the other.There is no glen, the name was simply made up as Elgin was growing in stature as a regional whisky centre.The White Horse? You’ve heard of the whisky?"

Nose: Sweet as it opens with white chocolate, soft toffee and a glaze of honey. A hint of charred oak smokiness develops with whispers of yellow plum, floral barley a tinge of ginger.
Palate: Acacia honey, apricot yogurt and a little buttery shortbread add supple sweetness among earthy vanilla and a prickle of baking spice.
Finish: A medium length finish, with toasted oats and a twist of lemon.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) is part of the Atom Group, which also owns the UK retailer Master of Malt and a number of other subsidiaries. They are a dynamic and innovative firm, who by example invented the Whisky Advent Calendar concept. Established in 2012, TBWC is famous for its playful and colourful labels, which often feature prominent whisky industry figures, tell a story, and or elude to an inside joke. The labels are typically laced with hidden elements and "Easter Eggs."
TBWC bottles whiskies from around the world, though the bulk of their offerings are of Scottish origin. Most of their offerings are small-batch releases, Blended Malts, and Blends. Their "Head of Whisky" is Canadian Sam Simmons.
