Made by the Gatsios Distillery of Arta, Greece, Koukoudo is a traditional Greek Liqueur made using droplets of resin from the mastic tree. The mastic tree itself is a small evergreen tree seen in the Mediterranean region.

Also known as Mastiha or Mastichato, the liqueur has a herbaceous/pine quality and is traditionally imbibed after dinner or to aid digestion. 25% ABV.

"Its basic ingredient is genuine mastic oil from the Mastic Villages of Chios. A strict, non-syrupy drink, with characteristic flavor and taste, where the combination of mastic and citrus fruits is not predominant. Served neat or chilled, but without ice, as this would change its taste."
