Alceo Rampolla started this winery in 1965 on land that had been in his family since the 1700s. Today it's biodynamically farmed and producing some of the finest wines in Chianti.

Chianti Classico is the cornerstone of the estate’s production. The vineyards are located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southeastern part of the Chianti Classico appellation, to the southeast of Siena. Almost exclusively with a southwestern exposure, they sprawl across ventilated slopes at an altitude ranging from 320-420 meters above sea level. Geologically, the terrains are mixed: in the higher parts the soil is predominantly rock quartz and calcareous Albanese mixed with alluvial pebbles; stratiform sandstone and loam characterize the vineyards on the edge of the Colli Senesi in the direction of the Crete Senesi. The first vintage was produced in 1967. 2019 was an exceptional vintage for the region, and it shows in the classic Chianti.

A charming Chianti Classico from an excellent producer, and a Kensington Wine Market exclusive! Giovanni Davaz owns fifteen precious hectares of vineyards in Tavernelle Val di Pesa where he grows very fine Sangiovese, muscular Cabernet Sauvignon, and dense, powerful Syrah. Generous use of small barrels in vinification barely tame the exuberant, broad fruit quality of his wines, and the firm, large-scaled tannic structure in them makes them suitable for extended aging. Ripe and rich fruit gives this wine lush notes of sweet cherries and leather. Very food friendly, especially with herb-roasted chicken. Organic and vegan friendly! Made from 90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo.

Previously sold under the Chianti Colli Senesi name, this cuvée comes from part of Le Ragnaie (Troncone), a vineyard located just under the 600-meter limit decreed by the government for the production of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino) It offers aromas of black cherry and spices, with a rich and silky mouth. Its well-integrated tannins and persistent finish make it excellent value for money. Ideal to accompany grilled meats and pasta. A refined and pleasant Tuscan.

Castellare di Castellina was born of the union of four estates (Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case) under the direction of owner Paolo Panerai, with the aim of producing wine of the best possible quality. This was in the 1970s when the so-called Renaissance of Italian wine had begun. A renaissance to which Castellare made its own contribution with a combination of tradition and innovation. They were the first to employ the Sangiovese clone now known as Sangioveto and were instrumental in introducing the use of the barrique, following the in-depth research and advice of Emile Peynaud, the most renowned oenologist in living memory. The vineyards occupy 33 hectares on the hillsides of a natural southeast-facing amphitheatre, at an average height of 370 meters above sea level. The vines are between 7 and over 45 years of age and yields per hectare are kept very low to obtain the maximum quality.
