What could "Speyside's Finest Distillery" possibly be? Benfarclas? Georgefarclas? We'll never tell! This is a true odity, a 50 year old heavily sherried single malt, distilled in 1967 and bottled after more than 50 years at 52.2% after maturing in a Refill Sherry Butt. 248 total bottles, but just 6 coming to KWM, 3 of which have sold... 92.7 pts. Producer Tasting Note
"The nose carries a big Sherry sweetness, then comes chocolate orange, stewed dark fruits (plums and cherries) and chewed leather. Deliciously zesty orange on the plate, with fruitcake and cocoa developing to winter spice and smoky espresso. The finish is lingering with peppery chocolate, malted barley, ginger and treacle toffee."

This is still one of the best value 40 year old whiskies on the market, bottled at 43%, after maturing primarily in Ex-Sherry casks. Canadian allocations of this whisky are getting tighter and tighter. We expect it will be a once annual release, and that the price will start going up precipitously in the years ahead... so don't tell us we didn't tell you so!
