Andrew's Tasting Note

Nose: decadent, honeyed, creamy and floral; dried apricots, marmalade and canned pineapple; canteloup and honey dew melons, orange pith, quince paste and fig jam; soft leather and milk chocolate.

Palate: waxy, creamy, honeyed and floral; loads of fruit; dried appricots, apple chunks and banana chips; more canteloup, melons, lemon zest and orange pith; marmalade, quince paste and a touch of fig jam; white pepper and and a hint of something with much more heat; grassy and a touch floral.

Finish: long, coating, floral and creamy with late heat; more decadent and honeyed with melons, citrus and dried fruits.

Comment: this a lovely old vintage malt, it is showig its maturity, but still far from over the hill; balanced, complex and very fresh; and at a third the price of all 70s vintage Benromachs released before or since, it is a steal!
