Adelphi Glenborrodale Batch 5

A marriage of just two sherry butts from a small handful of different distilleries. This is a blended malt, of course.

There are three ways whisky works really well in youth, if you ask me. One...if it's heavily peated. Two...if it's heavily sherried. Three...if it's one of those inexplicable celestial occurrences where the whisky seems to somehow drink years beyond its actual age. The latter are unicorn bottles. Fortunately, the former two are often readily available, and this Glenborrodale is a perfect example of clean, hefty sherry on young Scottish single malt. An absolute treat of a dram.

And can I tell you a little secret? 8 year old is the youngest malt in the mix, but far from the oldest. Wink wink. A sublime marriage of Highland Park, Bunnahabhain, Tamdhu and Glenrothes. Only 1,050 bottles produced. 46% abv and served up au natural.
