Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: very nutty and malty, almonds, cherry blossoms and toasted oak; a faint hint of clean smoke with vanilla cream and Winegums.
Palate: sweet, malty and toasty; still nutty and creamy, more vanilla; light, floral and elegant; the gentle smoke accents the delicate body and profile; more Winegums, almonds and lemon-citrus notes.
Finish: sweet, creamy, floral and malty; long and lingering with some tingling warmth!
Comment: this is a lovely and elegant malt, more complex than the age would have you believe.
Producer Description: "White Oak Akashi Single Malt, made with lightly peated barley, is a combination of single malts from 3 casks: 7 years matured in sherry cask, 5 years matured in white wine cask and 4 years in bourbon cask. This whisky is a rare find in North America due to its small production. Only a limited number of bottles will be released into the Canadian market."
