Distilled 18/07/2006 and filled into cask 306200, the whisky was matured for 10 years before being bottled exclusively for KWM at 57.5%. A shockingly small 127 bottled from a Refill Sherry Hogshead!  

Andrew's Tasting Note

Nose: nutty Oloroso sherry notes leap out of the glass with generously salted trail mix (raisins, peanuts and M&Ms); becomes more decadent with maple syrup tones and building clean smoke; while the dark fruits dominate, there are some more delicate ones like orange and lemon below.

Palate: big, rich and very sherried: while there are some nutty Oloroso like tones, the sweeter Pedro Ximenez notes seem to dominate; bacon infused chocolate with Christmas cake and a leather tobacco pouch; very layered, rich and bold but not rough.

Finish: long drying and very smoky with salted caramel coating the mouth; syruppy with dark fruits and more bacon infused chocolate.

Comment: this is a winter warmer if ever there was one... the big peaty sherry notes will warm your mind, body and soul, this is top of the mountain whisky on a cold, snowy, windy day! 

Producer Tasting Note

Nose: sherry influences mingle with Demerara sugar and hints of polish.

Palate: sweet with fruit cake flavours, cinnamon and zesty orange, complimented by a smoky edge.

Finish: long; lingering peat smoke flavours.
