We are so excited to have Old Malt Cask back at KWM after years, that we have selected 5 bottlings as exclusives for our shop. This 18 year old Fettercairn has been bottled at 50% after maturing in a Refill Hogshead (HL Ref10839). Distilled November 1995. Bottled August 2014.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: Old Fashioned cocktail, brandy soaked cherries and shortbread with spicy icing; vanilla panacotta and matcha ice cream; wine gums, Demerara sugar and orange rind.
Palate: soft and spicy with decadent sugars; more Demerara and some candied orange; white fruits, more shortbread with spicy icing sugar and matcha ice cream with chocolate shavings; some chewy barley with smooth new leather and dark spice: anise and a hint of clove.
Finish: long, toasty and fruity with fading Demerara, white fruits, shortbread and spices.
Comment: this is classic unpeated Fettercarin, medium bodied and bright with a touch of spice.
Producer's Tasting Note
Nose: sweet vanilla, butterscotch, apples, pears and ripe bananas.
Palate: sweet, creamy vanilla, fudge, licorice and malty notes.
Finish: long, lingering and dry.

Bottled at 50% and 13 years of age from a Canasta Cream Sherry Cask. This whisky was bottled as a part of the 25th Anniversary Range for Old Malt Cask.
