Cadenhead Small Batch North Port 1977

This item is archived.

This Small Batch bottling of North Port, also know as Brechin is from a single ex-Bourbon Hogshead producing 174 bottles of which just 6 came to Canada, exclusive to KWM. We have only ever had one other bottling from this very rare closed distillery. Distilled in 1977 and bottled in 2015 at 38 years of age and 48.4%.

Producer's Tasting Note

Nose: A real fruit bomb, kiwi fruits, limes, pears in syrup and melted white chocolate.

Palate: Very syruppy with soft woody notes. More waxy fruit notes with dried spices and lemon sherbet.

Finish: Very syruppy and a little flinty. Tofee bananas with more kiwis, lychees and watermelon.

Distillery Fact: The distillery was finally demolished in 1984 to make way for a supermarket, having originally been closed in 1983 only 6 years after this whisky was distilled.
