Exclusive to KWM in Calgary this 16 year old single cask of Royal Brackla, Hogshead 9913, was bottled at 46%. Only 36 of the 270 bottles released Worldwide are available from our store.
Royal Brackla is one of only two distilleries given the prefix "Royal", and the first in Scotland to ever receive a Royal Warrant. Only 3 have ever been so honoured. The distillery was founded in Nairn in 1812.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: silky, seductive, soft and creamy ; very floral to start, lots of white fruit: apple and pear, with a touch of orange and honey; spices in the background with some chewy malt.
Palate: bigger than expected, amazingly creamy, lots of fruits: white, citric and tropical; the whisky has some weight to it, clotted cream, melted vanilla ice cream and honey; the spices and floral notes show up late to the party with chewy malt.
Finish: spicy, toasty and coating with more creamy vanilla, honey and fruits slowly fading out.
Comment: very mature for a whisky of just 16 years!
