Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon make terrific blending partners. The tart and cheek pinching characteristics of the Sauvignon are tamed by the round and mellow flavors of the Semillon generally increasing the richness of the wine. This white, from the Canterbury region of NZ, offers aromas of passionfruit, melon and gooseberry. These are supported by savoury hints of roast capsicum (pepper) and aubergine. It is rich and concentrated in the mouth but retains a tight-knit, refined structure with a zesty, dry, crisp finish. Enjoy this charmer with grilled prawns, pasta and seafood, or grilled oysters.

Chateau Guiraud, an 1855 Classified Growth, is one of the most prominent estates in the southern Bordeaux region. This fine estate in the Sauternes appellation has been driven by its pioneering spirit since its creation. Since 1996, the estate has been devoted to biodiversity and in 2011 obtained an Organic Agriculture certification. G of Château Guiraud is a dry white wine made from grapes harvested at full maturity. It is aged for approximately 7 months in the oak barrels that produced the previous year's Grand Cru. It reveals a richness of expression and an assertive personality. The blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Sémillon.
