Available exclusively from KWM in Canada, this 2001 vintage Longrow (peated Springbank) was matured 10 years in a Fresh Sherry Butt and bottled at 53.9%. Only 611 bottles released. Only about three dozen came to Canada for Society members.

Andrew's Tasting Note

Nose: crisp salty smoke, firm new leather and big nutty sherry notes; licorice, dark fruits and spices.

Palate: very nutty, leathery and earthy; big spices, cloves, fennel, espresso bean and anise; tarry notes, ocean piers and struck matches.

Finish: more new leather, spices and tarry-salty smoke.

Comment: this whisky is the essence of smoke and peat.
