From Dictador of Columbia, whic is well known for their rum, comes this aged gin. The DIctador Treasure Gin is bottled at 43% ABV after being aged for 35 weeks in casks that previously held Dictador rum. The gin itself is made from sugar cane spirit distilled up to five times and infused with citrus, berries, botanicals and spices.
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: "The initial aroma is of tangerine enhanced with lemon notes. The secondary aroma is of the botanicals that provide the freshness and balance. Mint, spearmint and pepper and a bit of sweetness from the wood and berries – this an intimate fusion of a marvelous new generation of gin for both beginners and connoisseurs."
Palate: "The pleasant notes and roundness from the tangerine, lemon, mint and pepper combined with the traditional flavours of gin enhanced by the time spent in oak barrels results in a truly unique gin – Colombian Treasure gin. Enjoy it on the rocks garnished with a twist of tangerine peel."

Zuidam Distillery in the Netherlands produces a number of spirits including whisky and gin. This oak matured gin uses the same recipe as the distillery's regular dry gin focused on fresh citrus notes and small batch distillations.
From the Distillery: "Dutch Courage dry gin is distilled from Nine botanicals: juniper berries and iris root from Italy, coriander from Morocco, angelica, sweet oranges and fresh whole lemons from Spain, liquorice root from India, cardamom and whole vanilla beans from Madagascar. The gin is distilled using a unique distillation method with separate distillation of each botanical so producing a fresh, complex and layered flavour from a total of 14 distillations."
The difference is that this dry gin is aged in new 200liter American oak casks. This adds a layer of beguiling vanilla and spice to the still fresh and fruity gin. The result of this is absolutely stunning.
Distiller's Tasting Notes: The nose is soft and mellow. It is balanced fresh citrus and juniper notes and slightly sweet, soft and gentle vanilla and spices. The flavour is completely dry and fresh with a wonderful softness.

Wild Life distillery in Canmore has matured this gin in Ex-Bourbon barrels, allowing it to develop "character and richness beyond its years." 47.2% abv
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: earthy, lemon and lime, Winegums and vanilla cream; a touch herbaceous.
Palate: creamy and spicy; lots of vanilla and creamed honeyed; sweet spices and Strawberry Twizzlers; waxy and coating.
Finish: medium, oily and sweet with sweet, floral and spicy top notes.
Comment: the higher ABV really picks it up; lovely!
