From the top notch Plantation Rum series from Cognacn Ferrand comes the Plantation Original Dark Rum. This dark rum is distilled from molasses in Barbados and Jamaica and blended together to show the best of both nations' style. The youngest rum in the blend is 1 Year and the oldest up to 15 Years of age at the time of blending. 40%.

Producer Tasting Note
Nose : Hints of black peppercorn, clove, cinnamon, baked cherry, prune, molasses; later sniffs encounter forest, leaves, black tea, dry stone.
Palate : Entry is fruity with white raisins, dried pineapple, and is off-dry. midpalate is spicy, piquant, minerally, and significantly drier than the entry stage. Ends spicy.

This Coconut Rum comes to us from Planteray - the company formerly known as Plantation Rum. Luckily the have only changed names and not the quality of their ingredients and products. The Cut & Dry Coconut Rum uses pot still and column still rum made at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados which has been mixed with an infusion of dried coconut (also from Barbados). The result is bottled at 40% ABV for our tasting pleasure.

"Ripe coconuts are harvested, cracked open and laid outside to naturally dry. The dried chunks of coconut are infused in a blend of: Barbados column still rum & Barbados pot still rum (Old Gregg). We aren't much into flavoured rums here at KWM but the Plantation Stiggins' Fancy Pineapple is one of those execptions to the rule. This bottling takes the rum from Plantations excellent 3 Stars White Rum then gives it an infusion of pinapple rinds another distillation, then blends it with Plantation's Original Dark rum which has been infused with pinapple fruit. Bottled at 40% and out of this world good!
