Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Classic house style with glorious bourbon notes fused with the richest of barley statements, not entirely unlike caramelized biscuit dunked in coffee. Oh, and a bit of spicy attitude, too.
Taste: There we go with that unique bitter-sweet overture where the oaks and barley appear joined at the hip. Lovely soft oils and then a sharp jolt of blood orange citrus, which is removed by something more buttery and delicate.
Finish: Long, elegant with the most intricate of fades with the oaks showing various bourbon, then buttery characteristics. There is a trace of dark sugar and cocoa to help it along its way.

The Amrut Bagheera is a limited edition Amrut single malt, made from predominantly unpeated (99%) malt, which has been finished in sherry casks. The whisky has been bottled at 46%. The name "Bagheera" means black panther in Hindi. The gift pack includes two glasses.

Kadhambam means ‘mixture’ or ‘combination’, and this Amrut certainly lives up to its name: a vatting of normal and peated Amrut that started life in ex-oloroso casks before being transferred first into brandy casks, then into rum casks (both the rum and brandy having been produced at Amrut also). A curious mixture, this is a unique and thrilling whisky.

Finally, back at a bottling strength that suits this Indian flavour bomb! For the last couple years, we've only had access to the 46%er. That was still good whisky, of course, but this is next level. As soon as we saw it was back in the province, we had to jump.
This spirit starts its life in ex-Bourbon, before being re-racked into Sherry casks, then put back into ex-Bourbon to finish maturing. They like to refer to it as sandwich maturation. In this case...a spicy jam sandwich. Delish!
