This is without a doubt one of the world's finest rums. It hails from the Highlands of Guatemala & is sweet, rich and full bodied with an exceptionally soft, round palate. It is like a more refined Zaya. Unlike most rums, Zacapa is distilled from fermented cane juice rather than molasses. The rum is also unusual in that it is aged in a solera system giving it a blended rather than fixed age. The youngest rums are as young as six years old, and the oldest up to 23. The rum scored an impressive 97 points from the Beverage Tasting Institute.

From selected stock 12 to 20 years of age, partially matured in the Carribean and then shipped to Cognac, France for further ageing before being bottled.
