Pours a hazy brown with a tan head, nose is malt, brown sugar, fig, tart cherry & some funk. The taste is intense with malt & sweet flavours of chocolate and caramel and very little bitterness in the finish. Rigor Mortis is a complex beer designed and brewed in the tradition of the great Belgian Abbey beers. Abt is the name given to ultra-strong Trappist and abbey ales. The name Abt was pioneered to describe Westvleteren and St. Bernardus. Abts are darker than Quads, with more rich, deep fruity notes. Both are strong, malty and are bottle-conditioned, but abts trend more towards yeastiness.
