Glencraig single malt was produced with a Lomond still at Glenburgie distillery between 1958 and '81. The resulting spirit was named after Ballentines director Willie Craig. These stills had the ability to change their shape and therefore the style of spirit they produce. In theory this allowed a single distillery to make several different types of spirit. In practice the Lomond stills were awkward and difficult to maintain. Glencraig is extremely rare. Nose: honeyed and malty, Palate: round, and chewy, unexpectedly sweet and delicate; rolling right off the tongue. Finish: long, light and sweet. A lovely dram!
