Balvenie was built right next to its sister distillery Glenfiddich by William Grant and his sons. While Glenfiddich has been mass marketed and is the world's #1 selling single malt whisky, Balvenie was positioned as more of premium product. The 17 year is proof positive of that. One of the best releases of 2008. Jim Murray gave it 88pts, but I think a score in the 90's would have been more appropriate.750 ml
