Dark, full gold in colour. The nose is balanced with a smoky sherry character, nuts and a hint of raisins. The palate is big with rich peat, bold smoke and spices; dark chocolate, toffee and oak notes follow. Finishes long and intense with oak and seaweed. The spicy/sherry notes are said to have come from Cardhu, Benrinnes and other Speyside distilleries. The sweetness comes from the tiny highland Royal Lochnagar distillery. The peat & smoke are the product of Caol Ila distillery on Islay.
