Founded in 1836, Glenfarclas was acquired by the Grant family in 1865. The only older family owned distillery is Springbank in Campbeltown which has been in the hands of the Mitchell family since its inception in 1837. Glenfarclas's stills are the largest in the Speyside, and their mashtun--with a diameter of 10m--is the largest in Scotland. Delicately light, sweet & malty, leaving a long slightly spicy finish.
