Classic Port Ellen, mild maretime nose, powerful, smoky & medicinal, assertive & vigorous this is the biggest PE in some time. This is the 6th Special Release of Port Ellen. 4,560 numbered bottles produced, matured in American Oak, & European Oak. Distilled in 1978 & filled at 54.2%.

Distiller's Tasting Note

Colour: amber!

Nose: Light, deep, maretime, resin & pine; oily & intense. Burnt sugar, ripe plums, & big salt. Water makes it more maretime w/ apricot & cereal notes.

Body: smooth, oily, medium full!

Palate: Surprisingly fiery & warming, salt, smoke & medicinal. Water gives balance & brings out more character: fresh, sweet, salty, chocolate & nuts.

Finish: long. Fading maretime notes & smoke!
