In the UK, 100 proof has a different meaning than in North America where proof is simply double the alcoholic strength. 100 Proof in the UK simply means that the alcoholic strength is such that should it come in contact with gunpowder the two will spontaneously combust. This bottling of Springbank 100 Proof has been bottled at 50%, 4% higher than the standard bottlings. It is only available in North America.
