Considered by most afficianodos as the 'royalty' of the malt whisky world, the original 'Chateau' distillery stands today, near Craigellachie, and is open to visitors world-wide. The character of Macallan has traditionally stemmed from its use of the expensive 'Golden Promise' barley variety. It's richness is also enhanced by the use of especially small stills and for its loyalty to sherry aging.

Nose: Citrus, balanced with cinnamon, sherry and wood smoke

Palate: Full and rich with dried fruits and wood smoke

Finish: Long with dried fruits, wood smoke and spice
