Rum in the local Barbadian vernacular is commonly referred to as 'Soup', a slang abbreviation of the archaic 17th century nick-name for rum; "Devil's Soup". first produced in the Bahamas in 1703 Mount Gay is one of if not the oldest rum distillery in the world. Mount Gay is a blend of 7, 8 and 10 year old rums matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Banana and toast, vanilla pastry and warm spice.
